My Musings

"The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" is the simplest written book, it has a buttery-smooth flow of a fast-paced story, which has a deeper observation of a teenager's life and its value and meanings. The book highlights the usual problems of the 90s kids, which with today's generation can relate to these issues which the protagonist is experiencing in the book. Sam and Charlie's characters are the best to know through the book and seeing life through Charlie's viewpoint is an intriguing experience.

Storyline

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven Book Review

Charlie is a wallflower, his friends Sam and Patrick understand soon about this thing in him. But there is something else, something mysterious in his behavior which presents him as weird in front of others. Charlie is too emotional and impulsive when he gets angry. Whenever he gets emotional or doesn't get what is happening around him, he starts crying then and there without thinking about where he is, what people would think about him. And most of the time his crying leads him to faint.

Review

The best part about the book"The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" is its protagonist Charlie's scrutinized observation which is so thorough and picturesque that it draws you inside his head. The book is a pure and deep expression of a young adult boy and it makes the whole book an authentic and realistic read which with anyone can feel easily connected. Every character of the book is well developed and the author used all of them cleverly in the book to give the readers some lessons of teenage life.

World's Best Boyfriend by Durjoy Datta Book Review

The main character, Charlie, is a mystery. You can't predict anything about him. He is unpredictable in his actions. He has been entrusted with many secrets, some he keeps and some he doesn't. Most of the time when he spills the beans, he makes colossal mess-ups, and due to that once he lost all of his friends. The way through Charlie's viewpoint, the author puts the picturesque and intriguing portrayal of Sam. Whenever Charlie talks about Sam in his letters, it shows the purest form of love. I too have a crush on Sam.

The whole course of the book highlights myriad problems of high school-going teenager life. Like, finding new friends without losing your true self and being ready to explore new things with friends. Understanding the hormonal changes and knowing about your sexuality and respecting others' sexuality. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower also spotlights homosexuality and homophobia, and all the problems which come with it. The book also covers the other problems of teenage life, ranging from pregnancy, bullying to love, attraction, friendship, and cheating.
