Minuscules by Priyanka Bhatt Book Review
Minuscules by Priyanka Bhatt Book Cover |
My Review
Minuscule is a debut novel of the author Priyanka Bhatt, this book has a collection of short stories, nano tales and few liners which has a mixture of themes, like; Love, romance, betrayal, agony, society, depression and some goofy stuff.
Author Priyanka Bhatt tried her best to put each and every kind of emotion into the book. The acknowledgment section of the book is very poignant and inspiring and it creates a huge vibe for the whole book and I was expecting an intense read. But as the book contains variant emotion in variant forms, here the author's imagination failed completely.
There are very few stories and few-liners seem new to me, others felt forced and bollywood cliches. Most of the story plots were nondescript, there was nothing extraordinary or exceptional in them to read.
The main highlight of the book is the author Priyanka Bhatt, she has a commendable way of writing, the way she gives the minute details of scenes is stupendous.
I think she should write a fictional book which is inspired from her own story. That would be a way more relatable book for every reader, and even it will inspire others.
The book is a blend of colloquial and literary language which is very easy to read. You can read it in less than two hours even if you read it with full patience to understand the deeper meaning.
This is a very lite book anyone can easily read and understand, though I suggest if you have this book in your kindle library then you can give it a try to get over from a book hangover, otherwise, you should go for other options.
Blurb
When I asked him to be the poetry I could write about,
He kissed me softly and left.
Since then, my words have been oozing pain.
Today’s instant make-up, instant break-up generation has no time to spare at all. They prefer enjoying eternity in moments to waiting eternally for that moment. Hence, these micro tales have become the latest fad.
Minuscules is a collection of unique micro tales and short stories that are spread over various themes. From horror to social issues to romance, these tales leave no topic unwritten about, no emotion unexplored. Though told with brevity, the impact of these stories can be more lingering than that of novels. To-the-point, poignant, relatable - this micro fiction book can be read by anyone in today’s time - a teenager and an adult alike. Its varied range of themes is the cherry on the cake.
Minuscules is a book that is sure to bring a smile to your face and tears to your eyes – and stay with you for a very long time.
May the stories make a home in your heart!
Don’t leave me the way you leave others.
Some things are permanent indeed.
Like love, like regret.
And trust me honey,
I’ll be your both.
About the author
Priyanka Bhatt is an English teacher, poet and writer. Nurtured solely by her mother, she has witnessed many tempests in her life. She stands tall and strong in the face of adversities because that is the only option she has. After completing her Masters in English from the University of Calcutta, she was badly stuck in her nine to five job. Long working hours, impolite behaviour of the colleagues, dark looks, frowned faces, and subdued murmurs almost suffocated her dreams. She was searching for a way to escape this drudgery. Getting support from her mother, she left her job and began her journey of exploration.
Writing gives her happiness; it gives her confidence. She writes almost all the time when she is not teaching her students. It helps her to form new relationships with the characters she chooses to write about. She has even authored three English guidebooks, based on ICSE and ISC syllabus that are read by thousands of students in her hometown, Kolkata. Immense love from her children gives her hope amid desolation. Their incessant rants and innocent banters keep her going.
