Before telling you anything about the story of the book or my overall opinion about the book. I wanna say that no matter how this book review ends up. If you are reading this, you must buy this book. Because this Ice Town book made a part of my heart warm and full of life, and it's going to be the same for a long time. I really loved this book.

The book Ice Town by Akash Rathod starts with an episode of 26/11 where the heart of India, Mumbai was going through a God-awful trauma. There was nothing but ear deafening sounds of screams and crimson blood splattered all around the hospital surface.

Sagar Patil aka Saggy, A Young Man who had lost almost everything before achieving what he really deserved. He reached the hospital and found his beloved Anjali lying inert on a death bed, fighting with bullets. She had been shot, there were multitudes of bullets in her body.

The agony and helplessness took him back to memory lane. Where he was just a 19-year-old young boy who just came to Mumbai to complete his engineering. He was not an exception just like most of the others he had forced to be an engineer.

He made friends and got ragged and met Anjali and She showered him with her remedy and wisdom though he mistook her. One misinterpretation followed another and created a booming chucklesome blunder.

Saggy started to love, accompany Anjali. He tries, tricks and ways to collide with her and start a conversation. Anjali is a young, bold, ambitious, and independent girl who loves to follow her dreams. Deep down Saggy loved the way she lives her life and he too wanted to follow his dreams. Anjali becomes the source that rekindles his passion for photography.

Saggy is happy in following his dream and the girl of his dreams, Anjali. Though she is leading with someone else and she is confused and unable to decide; with whom she can continue her journey without looking back. Though deep down it is always clear. But once you drop yourself in a void of emotions and priorities, it becomes difficult to choose the right thing.

Saggy is ready to do anything for Anjali and so he did something wrong which seems right at the moment but the result of his deed; later shook the land from his feet and crumpled his heart in a thousand knots.

He lost everything in a little time. Even the girl for whom he did that unforgivable deed. He got nothing in his hands but some money, his camera, and human instincts to survive.

What crime did he do which was above any redemption?

Did Anjali survive her battle with bullets?

And what is the exact meaning of the title Ice Town? Is it apt for the book?

Go grab the book right now to know this all and be ready to inspire and change. This book has copious life-changing wisdom in it with an exceptional revolutionary Story.

My Review

Akash Rathod what a writer he is! I'm eagerly waiting to read more of his books because this debut Ice Town book of his is a remarkable creation. I loved the book so much. The first 25 pages of the book were intense and tremendously emotional.

The excerpts which included Sagar's parents' story were heart-wrenching and I had to take a long pause before reading further. There was immense pain in those particular excerpts which can compel anyone to cry or feel vulnerable.

The most impactful part of the book was the involuntary decision of Sagar which led him to a journey where he became a better person. As a reader, I felt those changes in me too. This book came up with a lot of power which you can read, feel and see; the power of spirituality, love, hope, rebellion, revolution, and mostly the power of self-belief.

The author Akash Rathod's writing is lucid in reading yet so contemporary and remarkable. The title and the cover both were apt and after reading the whole book both became more picturesque. The narration of the book is fully packed with witty quotes and deep conversations, and thoughtful philosophy.

This book is not a typical love story, but it's more than that. When you read the book, it'll really leave an impactful mark on your thoughts. Even this book has included an essential topic which was necessary to put in front of the young and old citizens of India. The way we treat our beloved mother nature needs to be changed.

The "Ice Town" book is highly recommended to all age groups of people. This book also helps as a self-help book in many ways so even if you are looking for an inspirational book, you can keep an eye on it.
